FC Lions are an amateur adult men's Football Club, based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. We play in the High Wycombe Sunday Combination League, under the stewardship of the Berks and Bucks County FA.
FC Lions was founded in July 2013. The original founding members were Will Carter, Scott West and Dale Why. Why managed the Lions first ever competitive game, a 1-3 away win at fellow debutant side, Hambleden. After this game, Will Carter took the reigns and has managed the side ever since, leading the club to a host of runners up medals, but as of yet, never to the allusive main prize.
FC Lions, are nicknamed "The Lions" or plain "Lions" and have forged a reputation as a tough team to play over the years. With the manager being a Newcastle fan, the Lions playing style can be attributed back to the famous Newcastle side of the early to mid-nineties, "The Entertainers" - Never shy of scoring a hatful of goals, the Lions can be seen to leak a few aswell! One thing you can be sure of when witnessing Lions in action, is that it will never be a dull affair!
The club currently consists of one adult men’s team, with the possibility of adding additional teams under further consideration for the 2021-22 season.
ABOUT FC LIONS
Our mission is to become the biggest, and best Amateur Sunday League football club in the area. We want to provide a platform, where, Men, Women and Children can enjoy the beautiful game.
We want to become more than just a football club, however.
We have teamed up with several Charity Partners, Prostate Cancer Uk, Young Minds, and BloodCancer.org, and through our connections made on Social Media, and the footballing community, we hope to be able to host and organise a series of fundraising events, to raise much needed revenue for these businesses.
